Dr. Elkholy started his residency at Brooklyn/New York University Hospital in 1992. He completed his residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine from 1993-1996. He did a pain management fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine from 1996-1997. Dr. Elkholy became an Assistant Professor at Yale University School of Medicine (1997-2000) teaching residents and fellows pain management, anesthesia, and acupuncture. He became director of the Pain Management Center at VA Hospital Yale University from 1997-2000.

Over the last fourteen years, he has been in private practice practicing pain management, acupuncture & anesthesia. He has over 18 years of experience. After leaving Yale University as an assistant professor, he was honored to stay on board as Clinical Assistant Professor from 2000-2002. Dr. Elkholy has various publications and abstracts.
