Dr. Elkholy commenced his Brooklyn/New York University Hospital residency in 1992. Subsequently, from 1993 to 1996, he was a resident at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He is committed to delivering expert pain management care, emphasizing innovative and effective treatments to enhance patient outcomes. Following this, he undertook and completed his pain management fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine from 1996 to 1997.

Dr. Elkholy was an Assistant Professor at Yale University School of Medicine from 1997 to 2000, where he instructed residents and fellows in pain management, anesthesia, and acupuncture. Concurrently, he served as the director of the Pain Management Center at VA Hospital Yale University. With over 25 years of experience, he transitioned to private practice, specializing in pain management, acupuncture, and anesthesia. Following his tenure at Yale University, he continued as a Clinical Assistant Professor from 2000 to 2002. Dr. Elkholy has contributed to several publications and abstracts throughout his distinguished career.
